Default Any old EU players coming back?

Hah, I miss Jumpgate, that game was a good laugh. Since playing it, I’ve not played any other MMORPGS – but I’d almost definately play JGE when it’s released!

I’m -PJ- or PJ_15_UK / PJ_16_UK in the beta.

Haha, crazy to think I played Jumpgate when I was 15, I’m now 23!

Any EU players? or old US / EU beta players remember me?

P.S. if anyone reads this and wants to contact me to share old times – my email is [email protected]

I’ll try to remember to keep checking back here, but can’t guarentee.

Yeah PJ, I remember you. One of the more talented speed dockers and an irritating little sod if I remember. Glad to hear you’re not a teenager any more

PJ! I certainly remember you. I was part of the Red Dwarfers back on EU.

Not only are loads of old EU people coming back, but some of us never left

Haha, my memories are fairly faint – but yes I do remember being rather annoying lol. Yes I remember being in a light fighter dive bombing (before they removed it) and speed docking haha… Then having my Nova on my Sol Fighter, and using Flash fires to get people, then speed docking, recharging them and re launching to get the next haha.

I played JG from when I was about 14-17 I think if I remember correctly. Took over my life, and as such I promised myself to not play a MMORPG again. All the new ‘MMORPG’s that have been released haven’t really interested me much anyway, but the thing I loved about Jumpgate was that the players really did control the universe, squads would claim whole sections of space / stations as their own (before PoS).

I really enjoyed being a Pirate. Was hilariously entertaining. That said, glad I left and got a life haha. Don’t really play any games any more, only use a PC for work and my main hobby is racing cars around circuits for real.

However, that said, I’ll definately check out JGE at some point! Infact the later it is released the better, I haven’t really got much available time till probably late 2008 – 2009, so look forward to it being released!

My biggest gripe with the last JG was firstly, no one I knew for real had ever heard of it! (thus my fame of being top of the kill list, was wasted) and secondly I never attended a real life meet (I think there was a london one and a amsterdam one before I stopped playing) and it would’ve been great to have sat down talking about some of those ‘classic’ moments over a beer with the real players.

Thing with Jumpgate was it took over your life, and you truely became addicted to it. When I stopped playing, I felt like i lost something, as I had previously been ‘feared’ and honoured by many people across the servers, and then when you stop playing, you feel you’ve either A ) Wasted your time playing all this time and B ) lost everything you built up.

That said, I’d definately play again, but take it a bit more light heartedly haha – not literally waking up in the morning, logging in, flying around, stocking up for a battle later, pirating, waiting for some enemy teams to come online (checking jossh every 2 secs on online status) hearing where they were and going on a hunt around the galaxy for them… Finally finding them just as they jump out of unregulated space! then having to wait and lure them back in … Of course they’d suddenly appear with 50 ships of back up and then would try to ambush you! lol… and so the cycle would commence and i’d run, call my team for some back up, get them to meet me in unreg somewhere (while i’m being chased by this army) – then a battle would happen in the middle and before you knew it, it was 5am and back to bed, to repeat the next day!

I’ve got a few idea’s I remember thinking would be brilliant in the first JG, I may suggest to the developers, which would make the game a lot more dynamic and many more possibilities on ship load outs etc, so it’s even more tactical on what weapons and stuff you have (where before it was literally a set best load out for each ship).

Anyway, good to see some people I knew from before.

Paul (PJ) (no one calls me PJ anymore haha, I’m known as Paul J now).

Oh yeh… anyone who does remember me, let’s agree to have a clean slate! I’m sure as most of you have, I’ve definately changed since the last time I played. I did some seriously nasty stuff to a lot of players and wouldn’t want the grudge to continue.

Aimed at people like Fellblade, Nicator, and others lol.

Anyone remember Pascal? from Germany lol. Those Germans hated me… was just a language barrier and chinese wispers.

P.S. I found out about JGE from Ezekeil (don’t know if you guys remember him?) from beta etc. I randomly saw a video he posted on youtube! lol, asked if he was the same guy from JG, he told me about JGE.

I’ll tell you one nice thing, I used to play Jumpgate on a 56k modem!!! Bad lag haha… Bring on playing on a good ADSL connection!

Well Paul J, dig up them old ideas, dust em off and get em down in the suggestion forums!

And your dream could come true, the game is down as being released late 2008.

Pretty sure you’re my first ‘dual’ in JG

Hey PJ, Centuri here I am sure you must remember me

Good to see some more familiar names on these forums. I for one will most definitely be playing JGE when it comes out, specially now I know that Codemasters will be publishing the game which means finally JGE should get the attention it deserves.

I am still unsure what I will do in the game whether it be pirate or some sort of merc, however if TDP reforms under Raiderr and Gio and Bear(aka Retard) also come back along with some of the other original TDP then I might see if they got a spot for me

Otherwise I will just have to make up some other reason to go round killing people

Also yes I remember Ezekeil another Sol pilot.

Well good to see you here mate, JGE should be worth the wait.
