Jumpgate: Episode 2, Attack of the Conflux™ Released Today

Episode 2 offers exciting features for both veteran Jumpgate players as well as for fans of space sims that are looking for something more than point-and-click gameplay.

LOUISVILLE, Colorado, March 18, 2003 – NetDevil Ltd., an independent developer of massively multiplayer games, today announced the release of Jumpgate: Episode 2, Attack of the Conflux™, the long-awaited expansion to its massively multiplayer space combat and trading simulation.

“Jumpgate has always been unique among massively multiplayer space games for its commitment to true space simulation and joystick space combat,” said Scott Brown, president of NetDevil. “Now it further distinguishes itself by being the only persistent universe space game to allow players to build and run their own stations in space.”

Episode 2 offers exciting features for both veteran Jumpgate players as well as for fans of space sims that are looking for something more than point-and-click gameplay. Building on Jumpgate’s core space combat and trading gameplay, Episode 2 adds:

  • Player-Owned Space Stations: Players will now have the opportunity to purchase and operate a space station, including a storage depot for ship parts, trading capabilities for commerce with allies and teams, and a spacecraft hangar allowing players to store up to 20 ships;
  • A mysterious new Alien Galaxy: Players will be able to explore and invade the home sectors of the sinister Conflux;
  • A deadly array of new opponents: The Conflux are more dangerous than ever, with faster, tougher ships and improved AI swarm systems;
  • Pirating and counter-pirating equipment: Pirates can capture cargo in interstellar raids, while freighter pilots can defend themselves with cargo bombs;
  • A new Sector Control System: Squads can seize control of sectors in space, setting off battles for domination with their rivals; and
  • Several new Ship Types: Powerful new Heavy Fighters and gigantic Freighters are among the new additions to the choices for TRI pilots.

“In Jumpgate, you’re in the pilot’s seat,” said Josh Johnston, producer of Jumpgate. “And with Episode 2, the pilot’s seat is a more exciting -and dangerous- place to be.” New players interested in experiencing the excitement and conflict of the Jumpgate universe can sign up at http://www.jossh.com to receive Episode 2 and 10 free days of gameplay for free.
